A Japanese-inspired mythic fairy tale of storms, sacred trees, and forgotten depths, where a close-knit village hides ancient mysteries beneath an atmosphere of quiet beauty.
HANAMI VILLAGE
Where Thunder Took Root
The first thing you feel is the pull.
Cast without warning into a black and storm-tossed sea, the adventurers find themselves beneath an impossible tree whose roots drown beneath the waves while its branches vanish into Faerie. Around its vast trunk clings Hanami Village: three ascending Rings of fishers, artisans, priests, and storm-watchers sheltered within the eye of an endless tempest.
But the storm has already claimed one of their own.
A single scroll may restore their fallen companion—if the adventurers can recover a diamond from the abandoned derro mines beneath the sea. To reach it, they must earn the trust of a close-knit village, gather the tools needed to survive the depths, and descend among the ancient roots of Yorishiro, where drowned tunnels still echo with the sound of unseen hammers.
Yet the mines are only the beginning.
The storm called Raiko is changing. Bells ring without being struck. Something moves among the highest branches. The old shrines whisper warnings, while Lady Fa Q—the serene Guardian of Yorishiro and emissary of the Guiding Light—watches over a village where hospitality, obligation, and authority are bound together as tightly as the roots below.
In Hanami Village, every gate asks a question.
Every kindness creates a debt.
And everything beneath the roots belongs to someone.
Hanami Village is a Dungeons & Dragons adventure setting for four to six characters of 5th–8th level, blending underwater exploration, village intrigue, Japanese-inspired Faerie folklore, and a race against death beneath an ever-circling storm.
