I just finished reading this chapter and the whole crypt scene had me completely hooked. The growing tension before Wren opened the coffin was so well done and I loved how the dialogue with Perry balanced the suspense with a bit of humor. The ending with Wren taking Crispin's hand was wonderfully unsettling and left me really curious to see what happens next
I loved how Wren’s determination pushes her to do something genuinely disturbing, even when she’s clearly frightened, and Perry’s story about his lucky coin adds such a human touch to his fear of disturbing Crispin’s spirit. That final moment, when Wren senses Perry’s time is running short without knowing how, was especially chilling. Do you think her growing ability to sense these things is connected to the Devil she encountered earlier, and what might it mean for Perry?
