"I found a place to operate tonight," he told Corazon. they'd been gone to long, Law realized, seeing the pinched worried look Corazon was trying to hide from him. it was only so notable when it smoothed away for Cora's grin - "Law, that's great!"

6 months they'd been trying to get Law cured. Tonight, they would succeed.

"And I got you lunch so you'll have all the energy you need for it,' Killer added, face a neutral mask carefully help to hide his ordeal from Corazon in getting them this food.

Law had one last underhanded attack that needed to be delivered on the young man; a glance at Corazon had him realizing they may both be on the same page. As Killer showed off the eclectic feast he'd returned with, Corazon nodded with approval, "This looks great, Killer-kun! Thank you! Come, eat with us."

"Oh no, that's okay, this is for you. I told you this morning - "

"I know you did. But you must have worked hard to get this, share with us."

Before Killer could lie - again - Law stepped in the role of the bad guy. "When -was- the last time you ate, killer?"

He looked back at Law hurt, looked betrayed, "I.. I told you this morning, I -"

"You lied this morning. You lied to Kidd about eating. And I bet you do that a lot."

Killer's jaw clenched.

"/once Kidd get started you're just out of luck/ - that what you told me this morning." Corazon said calmly. "Kids are already are a bottomless pit at that age, but once you add in the energy a devil fruit burns though... You were most worried about us three eating this morning, because you are [intimately] aware of that, aren't you."

As adults, Killer is the smallest of the power hitters of his crew. He'd finally started to fill out the last few years, but Law remembered the twig of a man on those first years of wanted posters. A lifetime of looking after Kidd, in a food scare place like this - likely had him eating last- if eating at all - in times of lean. Something that went back to the very beginning of his and Kidd's relationship. One so ingrained in their partnership, Law was pretty sure Kidd had no idea, because it was always part of his normal world view.

Corazon selected one of the tins, studding the writing carefully before handing Killer back the bag. "you and Law share this. You're right, Law needs to eat more, but so do you."

Holding the bag in confusion - when was the last time anyone had thought to offer Killer first choice of food, Corazon had to wonder - Killer looked small and lost. He had no script to follow on this.

there was a *thunk* and corason and law looked at each other in surprise,

Kidd was slumped against his newest project, forehead resting on the wall.

"Uh.. Kidd?"

"'m okay." he sighed, sounding.. resigned. "Will you please go get Killer?"

"uh..sure?"

"No rush... Just. sooner rather than later?"

Law met Killer on his way back -

"Are you still... Kidd, let go of the gear.

"Im trying"

"It's still moving, turn if off!"

"I can't!"

Killer groaned, taking a screw driver from kidd's work space and trying to wedge it into the wall, trying to pry the pieces out.

"Stop! you're going to break it!"

"Kidd!"

Law peered over Kidd's head, trying to see the machine that Kidd was stuck to.

"Don't break it!"

"Turn it off!

"I caaaaant"

Leaving the screw driver sticking out of the wall, Killer knelt down, squeezing himself in the space next to Kidd and groaning with what he saw.

"what?" Law asked as Killer sat back on his haunches, before pulling his knife out. "Uh.. Killer?"

"What he doing?" Kidd asked him nervously, unable to see Killer from this angle.

"Don't move," was all Killer said, before slipping his knife, flat & blade up, between the machine and Kidd's forehead. Kidd froze when the metal pressed against his head.

With a flick of his wrist, the knife slide up swiftly, and Kidd was able to sit up finally. His forehead was red from where he'd been stuck, his hair shaved in a chunk from where Killer had cut him free. A chuck of red hair stuck out of the gears in the wall, the piece only not moving because of the tools Killer had shoved in to it earlier.

Law inspected Kidd's forehead - Killer's cut had been good, hadn't nicked the skin, even if Kidds forhead was red from the initial hit and then from having his hair pulled on.
